As a managed services provider (MSP), your core value and focus is delivering  outsourced IT services. Referrals are a common way to gain new clients,  but your business can't grow wholly on referrals. 





Marketing is a valuable and effective tool for MSPs to promote value and capture interest that leads to sales. Finding the resources and outlining a formal marketing program can be challenging, but it doesn’t have to be difficult or expensive. 


Here are some easy (and cost-effective) ways to market your services:


  • Newsletters: There are a plethora of good and low-cost services that will allow you to easily create and distribute newsletters.  All you need is a couple of short articles, a case study or new product specs.

  • Local Advertising: Believe it or not, the Yellow Pages still work.  So do local and regional newspapers and magazines, and they all have websites available for advertising as well.

  • Social Media: You can easily and quickly develop a corporate persona on social networks such as Twitter and Facebook, to extend special offers and updates.  Don’t forget about SMB web forums in your region, as well.

  • Web Site: It’s important to update your site regularly. A website is a reflection of your company’s identity and value; it should look professional and convey confidence, expertise, stability and capabilities.


Marketing isn’t a necessary evil, it’s a business imperative.  Don’t lose out on potential customers because they don’t know about you.
