SMBs are moving to SaaS solutions for email, collaboration and cloud file storage. But, with flexibility comes risk. As SMB clients move their most valuable data from on-premises, how can MSPs help them overcome new challenges and prevent data loss?
Here are key suggestions and tips on how to successfully explain the concept of SaaS Backup to your clients and enhance their data protection.
The Importance of SaaS Backup
A common belief among some SaaS users is that the don’t need to do backup. They assume that the SaaS provider is doing that for them. The truth is, SaaS providers such as Microsoft Office 365, Google G Suite, and Salesforce.com don’t provide comprehensive backup, leaving end-clients exposed to valuable data loss from human error, inside threats and vulnerable to cyber attacks.
A good SaaS backup solution must be able to protect all of your SaaS data, not just emails and files. For example, Office 365 includes applications like SharePoint and Teams that have configuration data, metadata and permissions that need to also be protected.
