They assume that the SaaS provider is doing that for them.   The truth is, SaaS providers such as Microsoft Office 365, Google G Suite, and Salesforce.com don’t provide comprehensive backup, leaving end-clients exposed to valuable data loss from human error, inside threats and vulnerable to cyber attacks.

A good SaaS backup solution must be able to protect all of your SaaS data, not just emails and files. For example, Office 365 includes applications like SharePoint and Teams that have configuration data, metadata and permissions that need to also be protected.
