SO HEAD TO THE BLOG AND FIND OUT WHAT YOU SHOULD BE DOING IN 2015.
WE ALL REMEMBER THE INCEDIBLE MAGNITUDE OF THE USPS DATA BREACH, RIGHT? WELL IT’S EVEN WORSE THAN ORIGINALLY REPORTED. THE CONTINUING INVESTIGATION ON THE MASSIVE CYBER ATTACK RECENTLY REVEALED THAT, ALONG WITH SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS, ADDRESSES AND DATES OF BIRTH, SCORES OF PROTECTED HEALTH RECORDS WERE COPROMISED IN THE CYBER INTRUSION. THE HEALTH INFORMATION COMPROMISED DATED AS FAR BACK AS 1980.
ADD MORGAN STANLEY TO THE LIST OF COMPANIES THAT HAVE BEEN WHACKED WITH A DATA BREACH. RECENTLY, THE FINANCIAL SERVICES FIRM ADMITTED THAT IT WAS THE VICTIM OF AN INSIDER DATA BREACH. DATA ON 350,000 CLIENTS WAS STOLEN AS A RESULT OF THE INTRUSION, BUT ONLY A SMALL PERCENTAGE OF THAT INFOMATION WAS ACTUALLY POSTED PUBLICALLY. WHILE A DATA BREACH OF ANY KIND IS NEVER GOOD, THE FACT THAT SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS AND PASSWORDS WEREN’T INCLUDED IN THE STOLEN INFORMATION IS A BIT OF A RELIEF FOR MORGAN STANLEY.
SO, LET 2015 BE THE YEAR OF IMPROVED SECURITY FOR YOU AND YOUR BUSINESS. PROTECTING THE DATA OF YOUR CLIENTS AND YOUR COMPANY SHOULD BE ON THE TOP OF YOUR RESOLUTIONS LIST.
WE’RE ALMOST OUT OF TIME ON THIS WEEK’S EPISODE OF IT REWIND BUT BEFORE WE GO I WANT TO ASK ALL OF YOU… WHAT ARE YOUR NEW YEARS IT RESOLUTIONS? TRYING TO PUT AN EMPHASIS ON MARKETING?
