Greetings again from day two of Navigate 2018, Continuum’s user conference focused on empowering our MSP partners with the tools and insights they need to achieve success in the IT space.
Day one was full of value, including various breakout sessions, one-on-one marketing consultations at the Grow Your Business Hub, the opening of the Cyber Attack Simulator, and of course, an inspiring keynote address from our very own Michael George.
Riding off the coattails of an eventful and successful day one, here’s a quick look at what day two of Navigate 2018 had to offer.
After its wild success and insights last year, we brought back our CEO Roundtable to kick things off for day two. The discussion on-stage revolved around the state of the IT landscape, specifically as it relates to cyber security, the challenges and opportunities it presents, and how MSPs can effectively come out on top in the coming years.
Joe Panettieri of ChannelE2E did a fabulous job moderating the session, and was joined by three top executives who each brought a unique perspective to the roundtable:
- Michael George, CEO of Continuum
- Mike Potts, CEO of Webroot
- David Murphy, Sr. Operating Partner at Thoma Bravo
Take a look at some of the audience takeaways from this valuable discussion:

Continuum's Product Roadmap
Fielder Hiss, Continuum’s Vice President of Product, provided his Product Roadmap Presentation, during which he discussed the latest and greatest developments to Continuum’s IT management platform. There were three notable themes to Fielder's keynote:
1. Cyber Security
The first major enhancement is to Continuum Security. Fielder discussed how the solution has evolved to meet the needs and challenges MSPs are facing with security. With features like a new Compliance Dashboard and Office 365 risk-monitoring, MSPs will be able to better meet the demands of their clients with regulatory requirements and help secure their cloud-based operations.
Secondly, Fielder unveiled new cloud capabilities across Continuum’s solution line, including Azure monitoring and backup. With enhanced capabilities to monitor, manage, and back up in Azure, we’re giving our MSP partners greater opportunities to succeed in cloud and drive the digital transformation in today’s market.
3. Technician Productivity
And finally, Fielder announced a new, modernized user interface (UI) and improved performance across Continuum’s core product line to improve technician productivity and business efficiency. Continuum will be rolling out new features, workflows and user interfaces for our platform, and automation will be at the heart of it all. These improvements will provide technicians with intuitive and workflows, minimizing their time-to-completion while improving their outcomes with clients.
Celebrity Keynote: Barbara Corcoran
The shark on ABC’s Shark Tank, Barbara Corcoran, graced us with her presence and shared her inspiring rags-to-riches story during her keynote address.
Her story was inspiring; she started from next-to-nothing and managed to turn a $1,000 loan into a five-billion-dollar business by learning how to fail well. She shared how she quit her job as a waitress to start the tiny real estate company that would eventually become the multi-billion-dollar business that bears her name today. Everyone in the room was captured by her story and were left with a few great lessons:
- How to leverage the power of the press and third-party endorsement
- How to know who to hire, with a focus on attitude over experience
- How to learn to fail well and bounce back from a setback
Big thank you to our Titanium sponsor Webroot for bringing us this keynote.
The MSP Shark Tank
Following her keynote, Barbara joined Continuum CEO Michael George, Webroot CEO Mike Potts, and Rapid7 CEO Corey Thomas as panelists for the interactive competition of MSP Shark Tank.
In the battle to win over the sharks and earn the $15,000 prize, four contestants took to the stage and gave their best pitch for how they would promote their managed security services offering.
And the winner was... ImageNet Consulting!
