Mayweather vs. Pacquiao Special: Top Showdowns in Tech [Poll]

Posted April 30, 2015by Nate Teplow

If you’re a sports fan, this Saturday is a BIG day. The Kentucky Derby will be run, The NFL Draft will be ongoing, Red Sox and Yankees will meet at Fenway Park, and to cap it off that night, Floyd Mayweather takes on Manny Pacquiao in one of boxing’s biggest matchups in history.

I’m not really a boxing fan, but I cannot wait to watch this fight. Two of the biggest names in boxing in the past 10 years will face off in a much-anticipated match. Because of this big event, we've been thinking about some of the monumental matchups in the IT channel and in technology.

Since we had such great success with our “Would You Rather” campaign, we thought we’d pair up some of the biggest topics and discussions in tech to see how they fare against each other.

Let us know who you think would win and who you prefer below!

Let's get ready to RUMBLEEEEE!

The Matchups

In-House Help Desk vs. Outsourced Help Desk

Your clients need someone to call when they need help; however, there are two different ways to manage these calls. Some MSPs choose to maintain an in-house help desk and some choose to outsource. Which do you find more effective?

Backup & Disaster Recovery vs. Business Continuity

Storing data is a critical service that MSPs offer to their clients, but there's a few different ways to refer to it. What do you typically call your backup services?

vCIO vs. Trusted Advisor

MSPs can be called a lot of different things, but two of the most frequent terms are Virtual CIO or Trusted Advisor. Which do you think is the more powerful title?

Internal IT vs. No Internal IT

For some of your clients, you are their IT department. For others, you supplement their IT department. Which do you think leads to a more successful business relationship?

Break-Fix & Project Work vs. Managed Services

We know that most MSPs build their business on a mix of project work and managed IT services. However, if you had to choose only one type of revenue for your business, which would you choose?

Vertical Market Strategy vs. Horizontal Market Strategy

What's your business strategy? Do you think it's better to have 20 healthcare clients or 20 clients with under 50 employees?

Peer Group vs. No Peer Group

Some MSPs like to use peer groups...some don't. If you could have everyone join a peer group or eliminate them completely from the face of the earth, what would you do?

Local Backup vs. Cloud Backup

Data needs to be stored somewhere, but many MSPs have different thoughts on where to store it. Would you rather protect your client's data locally and never let it outside of the building or is it better to send it all to the cloud?

Cloud Infrastructure Vendors

You may have heard of these three companies...Microsoft, Google and Amazon. All three of them are heavily competing for the Cloud Infrastructure market. Which do you think is the strongest?

Google vs. Bing

Quick! You need to find the answer to something NOW! Where do you go first?

Red Sox vs. Yankees

In honor of one of baseball's biggest rivalries, which will be played on May 2nd, we had to ask this question.

Mayweather vs. Pacquiao

Lastly, since it was the inspiration for this blog post, we want to know who you think is going to win the fight this Saturday night.

What'd you think of these matchups? Did we miss anything? Let us know in the comments below and we hope you enjoy all of the excitement this Saturday!
