The Top 8 Tech Costumes For MSPs Celebrating Halloween

Posted October 29, 2015by Ben Barker

Okay listen, before we start this list we need to include a disclaimer. We're not actually aware of ANYONE that plans to dress up in ANY of these costumes this Halloween. Still, with all of the clever costume ideas going around this year, we thought it would be fun to channel some of that creative juice into the world of tech!

So, without further ado, we present you with the top 8 tech costumes for Halloween 2015 (in no particular order)!

#8 - Email Phishing

A simple costume that represents a world of pain for many, many people. Phishing schemes involve cybercriminals attempting to obtain information from users by posing as trustworthy entities. For this costume, you simply need to find a fisherman's costume, a fishing pole, and perhaps and envelope.

#7 - A Level 3 Ticket

While a level 3 ticket may be complex, dressing up as one is not. The higher the level of a ticket, the more complex it is, so level 3 felt just right for a Halloween costume. If you're good with arts and crafts, or know someone who is, this is a simple, yet creative idea that could impress at your office party.

#6 - Cloud Security

Cloud security has been a real hot topic this year, so you'd be fitting right in with the latest trends if you opt to go with this costume. Hanging a cloud around your neck after finding yourself a security or police officer outfit is an easy way to represent this technology buzz word!

#5 - Hungry Hungry HIPAA

This may be the most creative of our costume ideas (if I do say so myself...). You don't need us to tell you that patient data privacy and HIPAA compliance is a HUGE concern for doctor's offices and medical practices. That's why so many MSPs have found success targeting the healthcare IT vertical. You also don't need us to tell you that HIPAA sounds like Hippo. Throw in a classic board game and you've got yourself an A+ costume this Halloween!

#4 - Firewall

This could be a funny costume for the bouncer or security of the party. Nobody is getting in or out without getting past the firewall! We're not completely sure if there are "brick wall" costumes that exist out there, but if you're crafty enough, you can make one of your own. Add a fireman hat to the mix and you've got a creative tech costume!

#3 - ROM and Coke

We've seen plenty of couples dress up as "Rum and Coke" in the past, but we've decided to add a tech spin to a popular drink costume. This can exist as a couples costume or an individual costume if you can find a CD ROM mask! If not, you could always just hot glue some actual CDs to your Coca Cola costume!

#2 - RMM Agent

You've installed PLENTY of these on your clients' endpoints in the past, so why not become one for Halloween this year? We'll admit, the RMM representation in this costume is a bit of a cop out, but we think others in the tech industry will get the point. Plus, you get to dress up as an awesome secret agent!

#1 - MDm&m

Another costume that you're bound to see over and over this Halloween is the Red m&m. Meanwhile, a service offering that you're most likely offering to your clients (if you're not, you should be) is Mobile Device Management, or MDM for short. So once again, we've combined the worlds of classic costumes and tech to come up with our final costume suggestion for those that work in the world of technology!
