HERE’S AN ALARMING STATISTIC; DOWNTIME AND DATA LOSS COST COMPANIES 1.7 TRILLION DOLLARS PER YEAR. YES, I SAID TRILLION. A RECENT STUDY CONDUCTED BY EMC SHOWED BUSINESSES JUST AREN’T PREPARED TO DEAL WITH CRITICAL INCIDENTS THAT RESULT IN DATA LOSS AND DOWNTIME. A LACK OF STRATEGY FOR BIG DATA, HYBRID CLOUD AND MOBILE DATA IS A BIG ISSUE AS ONLY 6% OF THOSE SURVEYED HAD A STRATEGY IN PLACE. THIS JUST GOES TO SHOW THAT DATA PROTECTION IS CRITICAL TO THE LONGEVITY OF YOUR BUSINESS. MAKE SURE YOU’RE TAKING THE NECESSARY MEASURES TO ENSURE THAT YOUR COMPANY DOESN’T EXPERIENCED EXTENDED DOWNTIME.
BITCOIN IS IN WITH WINDOWS. MICROSOFT WILL SOON BEGIN ACCEPTING BITCOIN PAYMENTS FOR WINDOWS, WINDOWS PHONE, AND XBOX STORES. CURRENTLY, BITCOIN CAN ONLY BE USED TO ADD MONEY TO A MICROSOFT ACCOUNT, BUT SOON, DIRECT PURCHASE WILL BE POSSIBLE AS WELL. IT’S NOT ALL GOOD NEWS THOUGH, MICROSOFT HAS ADMITTED THAT THIS PROCESS ISN’T ALL PEACHES AND CREAM. IMMEDIATE TRANSACTIONS AREN’T GUARANTEED AND MICROSOFT HAS ASKED USERS TO ALLOW UP TO TWO HOURS FOR PROCESSING. ADDITIONALLY MONEY ADDED TO ACCOUNTS WITH THE VIRTUAL CURRENCY CAN NOT BE REFUNDED. AS OF NOW, THE SERVICE WILL ONLY BE AVAILABLE IN THE UNITED STATES.
